Artist Statement

Stan Lee has been a hero of mine all of my childhood.  He created the most amazing, imaginative worlds of heroes and villains that I happily lost myself in. When I found out the news about Stan Lee’s death this year, I immediately thought about his family, his comic books, and how his loss would affect the upcoming Marvel films, and it really hit me hard.  I decided to enter the Reflections program and write about Mr. Lee, since I felt he deserved a fitting hero’s tribute and not just my sadness or sympathy.
